Right of Withdrawal
As of: August 15, 2026
This notice is directed at consumers within the meaning of the KSchG (Austria) and explains the conditions for the withdrawal of contracts for the delivery of digital content within the HistoryBytes application (e.g., Founder Deal, Seasons, Subscriptions, Coins).
1. All Purchases Are Made via App Stores (In-App Purchases)
All paid content within HistoryBytes (subscriptions, Founder Deal, Coins, season unlocks, etc.) is exclusively purchased via the iOS App (Apple App Store) or the Android App (Google Play Store). There is currently no direct purchase option via our website or any other external payment provider.
When purchasing through an app store, you conclude the purchase contract directly with Apple or Google. We (HistoryBytes GmbH) are therefore unable to issue refunds ourselves β neither technically nor legally, as we never have access to your payment data or the purchase process. Exclusively the cancellation and refund policies of Apple or Google apply.
2. How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
Please direct your cancellation or refund request directly to the support of the respective app store:
- Apple App Store: Via reportaproblem.apple.com or the "Report a Problem" function in your purchase history.
- Google Play Store: Via Google Play Help or the refund policies at support.google.com/googleplay.
Both providers have their own mechanisms, built into the purchase process, for safeguarding your statutory right of withdrawal for digital content, including obtaining your consent for the early commencement of contract performance and the associated expiration of the right of withdrawal. Details can be found in the respective terms and conditions of Apple or Google.
We're happy to help with questions about your user account or purchase history: hello@historybytes.app. However, we are not able to initiate a direct refund through this channel.
Should we offer a direct purchase option outside of the app stores in the future, we will update this notice accordingly and add a cancellation form along with the applicable deadlines and conditions.
